We go back to the ring to Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for The Kevin & Sami Show. Owens talks up the show and their guest, then introduces Baron Corbin. We see what happened to Corbin and Sami at the hands of WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins last week.

Sami makes it clear to Corbin that this show is a safe space, a safe working environment, which is more than he can say for WWE in general. Because of this, Sami and Owens have withdrew their names from being the Special Guest Referee on Sunday, but they figured they should give Corbin this large platform to make his announcement. Corbin goes on about having plenty of names to pick from. He says his pick was born to count 1-2-3. He calls for a drum-roll from Sami and then introduces EC3.

EC3 comes out wearing referee stripes. He stands tall on the stage but here comes Rollins from behind with a steel chair shot. Rollins unloads on EC3 with chair shots on top of the stage now as Corbin, Sami and Owens look on from the ring. Corbin can’t believe it as Rollins returns to the back. Corbin says it’s back to the drawing board. The music of The New Day hits and out comes Big E, Xavier Woods and WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. Sami says they’re not invited and they’re not even Wild Cards for tonight. Sami asks them to leave the building. Kofi says he’s WWE Champion and that means he goes where he wants, when he wants, and he’s bringing his boys with him because that’s what the fans want. Owens says Kofi shouldn’t be worried about any of that, he should be worried that the WWE Title is leaving him soon, be it Dolph Ziggler on Sunday or the next chance Owens gets. Kofi mocks Owens for his recent loss at Money In the Bank. Kofi also takes shots at Ziggler ahead of Sunday’s Steel Cage match.

Corbin proposes he, Corbin and Owens beat The New Day back to where they belong on SmackDown. Woods thinks that sounds like a challenge, but they need a WWE official to sanction the match. A referee. They stand EC3 up and fans start chanting his name. EC3 is still knocked out but they pull a “Weekend at Bernie’s” gimmick with him and EC3 makes the match official. The New Day heads to the ring for a six-man match after dropping EC3 on his face. Back to commercial.

We see Carmella and WWE 24/7 Champion R-Truth backstage hiding and running around. A group of Superstars suddenly chase them but there’s no referee. Truth and a bunch of Superstars get on an elevator. A referee appears but he doesn’t make it onto the elevator, along with a bunch of the Superstars. The elevator breaks down and is now stuck. The security camera inside the elevator shows Truth, Carmella, Drake Maverick, EC3, Heath Slater and Cedric Alexander. No referee. Truth says this is what they get for chasing him.

We see the Superstars trapped on the elevator again. They just do some attempts at comedy. EC3 pulls a fork out of his shorts and says they may have to start eating each other soon. Drake Maverick mentions he’s getting married in a few weeks and needs to get out. EC3 is Drake’s best man for the wedding. Truth confuses Drake with Hornswoggle.

We return to the elevator and EC3 is getting buddy buddy with Truth.

We are back and Drake is worried about his wedding and everyone is trying to boost Drake’s ego. Slater tells Drake to wish for the best. Truth says they have a lot more in common than they thought. Drake talks about wearing white and everyone tells him that is for the bride. Truth starts signing We Are Family as the elevator is opened. Truth gets away for a moment but people try to roll him up. Truth gets into the elevator and to safety. Truth keeps the title.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Colin Jost, Michael Che, Braun Strowman, Otis, Tucker, Kalisto, Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado, Ali, Titus O’Neil, Konnor, Viktor, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Andrade, Jinder Mahal, Harper, Bo Dallas, Bobby Roode, Apollo Crews, Bo Dallas, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, No Way Jose, Tyler Breeze, Chad Gable, Heath Slater, Rhyno, Shelton Benjamin, EC3

The SNL guys (Che and Jost) bail to the floor as Breeze and EC3 are both out. Shelton and Dorado are eliminated as well with Strowman throwing everyone he comes near. Harper vs. Strowman gets a big reaction but everyone piles onto them to break it up. Titus misses a charge and gets eliminated, followed by Ali tornado DDTing Jose and tossing him. Strowman gets sent into the post and goes through the ropes to the floor as Anderson is tossed.

Rhyno is out as well and the Hardys get into a mini match with Roode/Gable, with Roode being eliminated. Metalik gets thrown out by Mahal and Andrade monkey flips Kalisto out. There goes Gable as the ring is clearing out in a hurry. Tucker runs the Ascension over and there’s a double Caterpillar to both of them. The Ascension is thrown out but Strowman tosses Heavy Machinery.

Mahal is out next as Harper tries to suplex Ali, only to have Strowman kick them both out at the same time. We’re down to Strowman, Che, Jost, Matt, Jeff, Apollo and Andrade. Apollo and Andrade go to the apron and Andrade snaps off a hurricanrana to eliminate both of them in a dumb move. The Hardys try to pull Strowman out but the SNL guys come in and fail to throw them out.

Strowman shrugs them off and dumps the Hardys, leaving him alone with Jost and Che. One of them grabs a mic and says this doesn’t have to end in violence, so here’s his therapist to talk Strowman through this. Strowman beats him up and gives him a chokeslam before slapping Che out. A running boot in the corner misses and Jost goes for the elimination but gets shoved away. Strowman throws him out for the win at 10:24.

Result: Braun Strowman won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal last elimination Colin Jost (10:24)
